You and your coworkers are the union. The first step is for you to take the lead in building the organization you need and deserve.
You do this by forming a committee of campus workers and recruiting your coworkers to pledge their membership.

Work together to draft a mission statement.
- Adopt organizational by-laws - UCW will provide a template to work from.
Form a Steering Committee of at least 5 people.
- Set up financial infrastructure by paying dues, setting up a bank account, and creating your first budget.
- Talk with as many campus workers as possible to build your base and
choose your first campaign.
- Start your first campaign and grow your union while achieving victories that improve workers’ lives.
